Povidone Iodine Gargle Mint is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent that is used as a mouthwash to kill germs that cause infections of the mouth. It also relieves dryness of the mouth and sore throat.
Povidone Iodine gargle contains povidone-iodine which kills a wide range of germs including bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores, and simple organisms. It is used for the treatment of acute infections of the lining of the mouth and throat, for example, inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and mouth ulcers. It is also used for cleansing the mouth (oral hygiene) before, during, and after dental and mouth surgery. It provides soothing relief of dryness or minor irritation of the mouth and throat
The Active ingredient Povidone-iodine has the broadest spectrum of antimicrobial activity of the available antiseptics, and has a rapid and persistent microbicidal effect. It is active against Gram-positive and -negative bacteria, bacterial spores, fungi, protozoa and several viruses, including the H1N1 influenza virus

Indications

For infected inflammatory conditions of the mouth pharynx caused by bacterial or monilial infections such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, stomatitis, traumatic ulcers, etc and in dental surgery

IN TREATMENT OF MOUTH INFECTION: Whenever there is an overgrowth of microorganisms in our mouth, that are otherwise normally present, it can lead to unpleasant symptoms suggestive of mouth infection. You may also drink warm water/drinks such as ginger tea, avoid cold foods, and take a steam bath for additional relief.

Side Effects

Povidone-iodine gargle may cause mild itching and burns on your skin, although not everybody gets them. Check with your health care professional if you notice any unusual effects while you are taking it.

Warning & Precqaution

• It contains alcohol (8.38 % w/v.) Do not heat the solution.
• Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.
• This gargle must not be swallowed.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• It should not be used in children under 6 years of age. Consult your doctor/dentist before taking it

For Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended.

Safety Advice

• Use Povidone-iodine gargle orally as a gargle or as a mouth wash.
• Pour this gargle into the cup. Dilute with an equal amount of warm water if the taste is an issue.
• Swish part of the solution briefly in the mouth and spit it out.
• Tilt your head backward and gargle for a total of 30 seconds via swirling the liquid at the throat.
• Spit out the solution. Repeat every 2-4 hours or as directed by your physician/dentist or pharmacist.
• It should not be swallowed.
• If you accidentally swallow any Veedine mint gargle, seek medical advice immediately, taking the bottle with you.
• Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to povidone-iodine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
